Merged tables break when the source for the parent tables changes

Hi, I am working with Power BI and I have a few tables that are the result of a table merge/join. The issue I ma having is that when the source of the parent tables changes (I mive the file locations) the resulting merged table errors out. Refresh does not do anything in power query. I have to manually re-create the table join after updating the source for all the applicable parent tables. Am I doing somehting wrong or is there a bug here?

Thank you!

    Hi banks334,

You need to open the report in Power BI desktop, find the parent table, click on the first step (By default it's Source step) in Applied Steps pane, then replace the source path with the new one, this parent table and merge table should work now. You can click on Refresh Preview-> Refresh All if needed.

    Best Regards,

v-qiuyu-msft Right I have done that. What I am trying to say is that even after updating the source, and refreshing, the merged table does not update. It still makes reference to the original file source. I have to re-do the merge to get it to work.

I will try restarting the application.
