Measures with custom format string not able to be used within Analyze in Excel pivot table

Hello,

 

I discovered an issue recently within the Analyze in Excel feature.

When a try to drag a measure with a custom format string (for me, it is the format string "#,0 m" to show a quantity in meters), Excel throw me an error.

  • If I drag the measure in the browser (Excel for the web), it throws me the error below :
  • If I drag it in the desktop app, It doesn't allow me to put the measure in the values field

Standard format string measures works just fine. An old dataset (less than 1 year old published one) works fine with the same custom format string measures.

My Power BI environnement is hosted in France and I got the errors on different Power BI tenants hosted in France.

    According to the information you provided, I have no way to restore the scene. Can you provide your measure or pbix file(remove sensitive info) ?

    Hello Anonymous and thank you,

     

    Here's a pbix file which corresponds to the error.

    You will find a measure in the 'Saisies' table called [Nb heures N] with the format string "#,0 h" to display a number of hours. I tried this morning and the issue is stille here for me.
