Map not working on email subscription

We have noticed that since the October 15th, we are no longer receiving emails with the map object animated on the report.

When we access the report on cloud everything works well, also when we export the page using pdf format.

This issue happens with all our reports. It seems to be a problem with the image format exportation.

We are having the same issue with maps not showing data when sent as a subscription.

I have tried on several browsers and the issue remains. Exporting via the Desktop app is working fine but exporting to PDF or PPT via the Power BI Service is the issue. It is just defaulting to the global map when exported every time. Very frustrating

Hello,

We have also started having this issue with the Map visual recently when exporting PDF output from pbix files saved in a powerbi.com workspace.  We're not using a browser to initiate the export; we are using PowerBI Rest API to export in PDF format.

Please ignore the orange text box in my attached image; I had to add that to squash all of the end-user questions I started getting about the map.

Thanks,

Jacob

I am encountering the same issue with the email subscription preview (.png) for a report that contains a filled map visual.  Card visuals are rendering appropriately.  Verified that there is no RLS and that the Global --> Security --> Map and Filled Map Visuals option is checked within the pbix file.  The maps render appropriately when I view the report directly within Power BI online.

The preview file map visuals have been rendering appropriately over the past 5 months.  They stopped working on October 15th, 2022.  We have tried re-creating the subscriptions in Power BI online; which was unsuccessful.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ailsa,

No updates on this other than more users reporting the same issue. Does one of us need to raise a ticket or is this something you can progress?

Thanks in advance.

+1 to "please investigate this", it is really blocking for our customers as we cannot provide them with automated exports at the moment 😅
