Issue with latest version Power BI Desktop August 2024

Hello,

Seems facing issue with Power BI Desktop latest version Aug 2024, as i am not able to open any report and getting the below error. 

encounter the same thing in its entirety. I was unable to locate any information on it (or the August upgrade, for that matter)
Nothing I attempted to change the situation seemed to:
- For the first time, I saw the problem without even opening a report.
Issue when trying multiple reports.
I received the issue when I opened and closed the software, both with and without reports.

Note: I have uninstalled and reinstalled/restarted again.

Same issue here. Reinstalling the new version has not fixed the issue and I don't have the option to revert to the previous version (our updates are via Company Portal and are automated)

Issue resolved , by uninstalling and installing the newer version

Having the same issue and not able to resolve by uninstalling/reinstalling, as our updates are automated and managed by IT via Company Portal.

Why on earth is this marked as "delivered"?! A workaround to uninstall and reinstall it from scratch isn't resolution of the problem! A properly working update needs to be released!

I'm having the same issue after installing the August 2024 version (2.132.908.0).  I will have to ask our IT to uninstall for me as we don't have uninstall privilege on our computers.

Hi all ,

The installer of PBI Desktop was updated on the 21st, so if you have problems installing PBI Desktop before, you can uninstall it and download the latest installer to update it.

Company Portal version latest.

 

Our IT dept made the previous version (2.131.1203) available with option to reinstall.
They also made the current version (2.132.908) available to reinstall.

 

Reverting to July version works.

Reinstalling Aug version brings back the issue (in spite of the reinstall stating "downloading and installing...").

 

For anyone installing through Company Portal, this issue IS NOT FIXED. Please, Microsoft, sort this out.

Oh how I miss the days of Microsoft delivering a solid, stable piece of software and the occasional cumulative update or patch.  Now, everything other than Visual Studio seems to have an update monthly and none of the update schedules align.  I spend at least 10% of my time discovering bugs, dealing with updates that break some other product (of their own or 3rd party), creating workarounds, and explaining to customers why I can't deliver on a promise until a new release fixes something they broke.  When I try to communicate my frustration to anyone at Microsoft, they immediately start trying to sell me Copilot licenses.

I have uninstalled PBI and reinstalled from the store

 

Also tried the version in 

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/products/power-bi/desktop

Download now goes to MS store again

Then andvanced download options goes to this 

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=58494

 

None worked for me

 

Those trying the downgrade, how do you find the prevoius version?
