Issue: Scheduled refreshes failing due to 'not enough memory' errors

Hi guys

Not sure where else to submit a ticket so figure it's here. Last couple of days a number of our dashboards that are scheduled to refresh multiple time per day have begun failing with 'not enough memory' errors reported. Might need to look at your servers.

eg.

An error occurred while processing the data in the dataset.

Refresh failed:

Customer Dashboard - DQ has failed to refresh.
Failure details: There's not enough memory to complete this operation. Please try again later when there may be more memory available.

Next refresh for Customer Dashboard - DQ is scheduled for September 9, 2022 1:00 UTC.

Hi @Gazmeist ,

It is obviously that the error caused by your memory limitation.

1.you can reduce your size of datasets as soon as possible. In your datasets, too much complex query will consume large memory. As you mentioned, you will refresh multiple dashboards, if they come from different datasets,  it would involve more queries and more easier to memory overload. So you can simplify your queries.

2. configure incremental refresh

3. Also, if you are in premium capacity, you can buy higher SKU or configure autoscale.

This is painful.  I am also having refreshes to pbix files fail for circular reference to a table, which was never an issue in the past.  Refresh again and it's fine.  Developers need to do their due diligence in testing these "features".
