Hide no-op ellipses marks

I've noticed that for reports and dashboards shared with me in the Power BI service, the left sidebar provides ellipses marks for each of these reports and dashboards which don't do anything when clicked (e.g., no menu is opened, no link is followed, etc.).

The problem repros in both Edge and Chrome.

This seems like either a buggy or unnecessarily confusing UI.  Can we just hide these ellipses marks when they don't actually provide any functionality to the user?

Hi @StevenDasMSFT,

Did the dashboard come from the same organization shared with you or different organization? 

Based on my test with internal shared dashboard in Edge 41.16299.15.0 and Google Chrome version 63.0.3239.108 (Official Build) (64-bit), the normal left side menu bar can works fine. 

Also tested with external shared dashboard, there is no left side bar, see:

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft, thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

I was referring to these ellipses marks which pop up next to each report or dashboard listed under a given app workspace, in the left-hand column:

You can see that when I hover over the ellipses marks, the tooltip even suggests that the action on click should be "Open menu": that didn't happen here, however.

To answer your other question:  yes, I am part of the same organization as this report was shared from.  In fact, I am a member of the same app workspace which the report is shared in (although I neither am an admin on the app workspace, nor did I create the report myself).

Hi @StevenDasMSFT,

This is due to you are view only member of this app workspace. If you have edit permission in this app workspace, when you click on the "..." button next to reports/ dashboards, the menu will pop out. 

Currently we can't hide the "..." button, for your requirement, you can submit a feature request here: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas
