With the new release, I have to go to View and select Format and data for every edit. When you click on format, the data panel disappears! This is a fantastic way to make PBI even more click heavy. You've just made every job both harder and longer (and it's not like PBi is a quick tool to start with - yr on yr is a joke in this software). Big shoutout for coming up with an update that makes this tool even worse. Quite an achievement!

Hi @Stephen_Ca
The "Visualization" pane has been removed in this new version in favor of a menu on the object. A "pane switcher" has also been introduced to align with Office's "one pane at a time" model and give you more space on the canvas.
So based on the above, you need to switch back and forth between data and format. Of course this is a preview feature, if you find it inconvenient, you can still use the old version. You just need to turn off On-object interaction and restart your PBI Desktop.
