I also am struggling with this issue. I published the report just to have a colleague point out that the labels were inside the bars rather than above the bars as we had decided in the development phase. When I checked on the desktop end, the labels had reverted to inside, sure enough, and the data label formatting dropdown said, "top" but will not display top no matter what I do. I have V2.139, and, based on old comments, this particular bug doesn't seem to have been resolved after 5 years. Things I have tried: -removing the Resource and dragging it back in. -toggling the dropdown in data label between the 3 options (top, inside, outside) -changing the Task Settings size (back to default, then up and down) -changing the Category Labels font size -adjusting padding Soooo, I need some options here that do not involve rebuilding the report since it's already in client use. The best resolution I have since the bars have been color-coded with 5 color along with % completion shading, my only recourse has been to keep the top positioning and change the label to a light-medium gray that contrasts well enough with both the bars and, if the description of the resource is long enough, also contrasts with the white background so users can still fully read the label. This is an imperfect solution though as one bar happens to be a medium yellow and gray reads poorly in this use. Please advise!
