The Power BI Desktop (and Service) Filter panel needs a major overhaul to make it more friendly and customizable for end users. The location on the side and the forced separation of each type (viz, page, report), the inabilty to change fonts and add borders and icons, change its size, drag and drop from one section to another, add descriptions/notes to explain the functionality, etc results in users having to build separate filter panels with buttons and other graphics which increases developer overhead and time to maintain, and increases liklihood of bugs with each change (because bookmarks are overused, etc). And it limits the built in functionality integral to the filter panel. I actually believe this is limiting adoption of the entire tool because less technical users find the existing panel frustrating to use.
