Errors when access NetSuite via the Netsuite ODBC drivers

I get two different types of error when connecting to NetSuite via their Analytics Connect ODBC driver.

I create a DSN, then in the Power BI Desktop can connect using that, and see a list of tables.

However, selecting a table generally gives one or the following errors (often after multiple minutes):

Preview.Error: The type of the current preview value is too complex to display.

or 

Feedback Type:
Frown (Error)

Index was outside the bounds of the array.

The linked post certainly seems same issue, but on a different source (CRM vs Netsuite) though there wasnt really a solution given there.

I am able to work around this issue by using advanced mode, and defining a SQL Query. 

I suspect the issue might be too do with how when you go through the navigator, it adds all of those extra columns with embedded records/tables, reflecting relationships. Given the complexity of the schema, these are very numerous. That might explain the "too complex" error, and the "index out of bounds" error might also be related to that.   For a relational DB, including those embedded tables/records seems of questionable value anyway, and certainly should be a way of switching off if it doesnt scale.
