Dropdown date slicers ignore date formatting

Dropdown date slicers in reports keep defaulting back to long format after they are interacted with or you navigate back to a report page. This seems to happen in PBI Desktop and in the Service. Whether the column is calculated or not or Date or DateTime field doesn't seem to make any difference

I'm trying to reproduce the issue but not succeed. Would you please share detail steps about "they are interacted with or you navigate back to a report page"? 

It would be possible if you could share a pbix file.

It seems to happen most consistently when there are two date slicers on a page but I have had it with one slicer on a page. You set the slicer to June 2015 for example and switch pages. When you come back to the page the dropdown slicer displays 1st June 2015 00:00:00 GMT etc

Hi @JonesTrac,

Which Power BI desktop version do you run? Please update to the latest version then test again. 

If issue persists, please share a pbix file with some dummy data.
