Hey everyone,
when I connect to a SAP BW datasource in Dataflow, the popup window opens initially, but after clicking on ok it is not possible to edit the selection of fields or variables afterwards.

Hi avaTOL ,
Are you using the latest version of Power BI Desktop? Please provide your version information and some detailed screenshots of the error (be careful not to include sensitive information) to describe the problem.
I tried to do a simple test but it doesn't seem to reproduce the problem, any more information would be great.Best regards.

Hey Anonymous ,
thanks for reaching out. This problem does not happen in PBI Desktop, only while using Dataflow in Power BI Service.
Best regards

Same problem here, I'm struggling with this issue for a while now. As decribed before, it is possible to build a SAP BW Query initially inside a Dataflow, but after after that the gear symbol is missing and the settings cannot be edited. My current workaround is copying the query into the Desktop App, change it there and copy the M code back into the service. That works but is a tedious task, a fix would be really appreciated.
To demonstrate I set up a really simple SAP BW Query and just selected one measure, the gear symbol besides the 'Added items' step is missing:
After that I copied my query from the Dataflow into the Desktop App, the gear symbol will appear and I am able to edit my initial fields and variables selection:
