DQ dataset calculated column causes error fetching data for this visual

Hello,

Overnight one of our tables on a report containing 1 column, 8 measures and 1 calculated column stopped load and gave error 'error fetching data for this visual'. After investigating and experimenting found it was the calculated column inclusion that was preventing the visual from loading, having removed and regenerated column in SQL this is now resolved.

However, find it concerning this change happened with no changes to the gateway or report.

Has anyone else seen similar issues or could point me in the direction of the root cause of this?

Hi @Albie

Does the error appear in Power BI Desktop? Or does it only appear in Power BI Service? Are other users having this issue? If the owner of the report opens the report, does it report this error?

Hi Ailsa,

Thank you for your reply and looking into this, I really appreciate your time 🙂

The error does not appear on PBI desktop only in the service. All users who view this report in the service have this issue. I am the owner of this report and I also see it in the service (both in workspace and app).

Please let me know if I can provide any other info.

Thanks, Albie
