DIN Font

Hi guys,

Could you please fix the fonts: after the June update DIN font doesn't support Cyrillic. I had some visuals in Russian and now they are all Arial. Can't change to DIN as I used to before the update. Something went wrong.

One more thing about the DIN font: when I choose it as the X-axes font, it gets to some extent truncated from the bottom and labels are not fully visible.

Thanks in advance!

Alex

Hi @theekin,

The Din font is available in Power BI desktop June version.

In your scenario, would you please clarify the issue with some screenshots? It would be better if you could share a pbix file.

Best Regards,

Hi guys, Thank you for looking into the issue! Please read my post carefully: I didn't say it is not available, I said that it doesn't support Cyrillic after the update. Unfortunately, I can't share my .pbix file due to the sensitivity of my information and don't know how to add screenshots here, but let me better explain the issue. You can for example take some list with values in Russian in it, put it in the working area and then try to change the font to DIN. In the panel it is DIN (like in your screenshot), but the font in the list (I mean the values) change to ARIAL. That is the issue! Best regards, Alex

Hi @theekin,

Thanks for your detail information.

I have entered some Russia data and set font family as DIN, the values display in Power BI desktop June is the same as April. Please test our report on your side to see if the issue persists.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft, Thank you very much for your reply and help! That was me who had to send you the report with some dummy text. Sorry that you had to take your time and do in instead of me! 😉 Now to the issue. Thanks for images, but even there I can see that text that should be DIN font is actually ARIAL font. And the same situation in the report that you sent to me: the side panel says it is DIN, but in the working area the text is ARIAL. After the April updates it was fine, and even after May updates everything worked fine. But after June update you had changed something that changed the situation with that font. I guess it is the new feature called 'Improved locale formatting' which could mess things here. Please fix this! I didn't want to roll back to the May update, 'cause the June update has many interesting updated things. Best regards, Alex

@v-qiuyu-msft, You can take for example two lists: one Latin text and numbers and second Cyrillic text and numbers, increase font size and apply DIN font to them and you'll see the difference. I mean it is so visible!... Best regards, Alex

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft, Small update on the topic: I created two lists - one for Russian and second for English - on the PC of a friend in the Microsoft PBI Desktop. Then put them on the working area and changed the font from Segoe UI to DIN. The font in the English list changed to DIN and the font in the Russian list showed DIN in the panel, but changed to ARIAL in the list. This means, it's not on my side, it is something wrong with the application. Please fix this. Best regards, Alex

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft, I have just updated to the latest build - 2.59.5135.601 - hoping that this issue is fixed, but my hopes did not materialize: we have nothing in there... Every single font works, but DIN. I mean is this very difficult to fix the thing? I am starting to hate the ARIAL. Do you still need some files, screenshots, etc. to get back to normal? Bye, Alex

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft, I have just updated to the latest build - Microsoft Power BI Desktop 2.59.5135.781 - and the issue is still there. Are you listening to at all? Why am I giving the feedback at all?
