Clicking on a slicer directy after opening a power bi report causes an error

Hi everyone,

i'm getting an error whenever i click on a slicer directly after opening a power bi report. If the slicer pane on the right is hidden, the error is not showing up.  Does anyone have the same problem?

Status: Investigating

Hi @orwanassour ,

This issue has been around for a while, does it still exist?

Are you using the latest version of Power BI Desktop? Please provide your version information and some details to describe the problem.
I tried to do a simple test but it doesn't seem to reproduce the problem, any more information would be great.

Best regards.

Hi v-xiaoyan-msft,

thank you for your quick reply.

I'm using the last version (Version: 2.123.684.0 64-bit November 2023). I was actually waiting for the update in order to check if the problem would be solved. Unfortunately it is not.

In order to reproduce the problem you need to create a very simple power Bi report with just a slicer (vertical list with a titel or slicer header) and let the 'Sync Slicers' pane shown on the pane switcher. Save the report and reopen it again.

Immediately after opening the report just clicking on the slicer header will produce the error(screenshot). The 'Sync Slicers' pane also shows nothing (2nd screenshot) . It works when you first close it an open it again from the View menu.

Hi @v-xiaoyan-msft ,

thank you for your quick reply.

In order to reproduce the error you need to create a very simple power bi report with a slicer (a vertical list with slicer header). The Sync Slicers pane should also be shown on the pane switcher, not hidden.

Then save and close the report.

Open the report again and first click on the slicer header (Country) .  The Error will pop up.

Please notice that the Sync Slicers pane shows nothing, even if you close the error message and select the slicer. The Slicer pane should be closed and shown again from the View menu in order work.
