Hello, Im unable to refresh one of my reports, the gateway is ok, and in power BI destkop refreshes properly. can you help me out, I get this message:

That was the solution I was looking for!

 

I had a couple dates in my excel spreadsheet that had 1/01/0017 instead of 1/01/2017, which caused my whole report to fail when it was being updated through the gateway.

We are getting the same issue.  The data refreshes in the desktop additional without any issues.

Update - my issue was resolved.  I opened a support case and the technician had access to additional error logs, which named a field in my model which had an error, even though in Desktop reload it was fine.  I guess if the error messaging was improved we wouldn't need a support case here, but oh well...

Hi,

 

We are getting the same issue.  The data refreshes in the desktop additional without any issues. We are using the same datasource for 2 different models and the gateway is working fine for one model and another is not refreshing and getting below error

Hi 

We had the same issue and first extracted the data to Excel and by using filtering found that some of the fields had incorrect data.  Once corrected it worked.  We found that most of the date fields were causing the issues.

Bad dates were the problem in one of my tables also.  Your suggestion worked!

PS: after going through the other users' comments, I also tried correcting my Dataset too. Date (function looks fine)..still same result.

Check also BLANKS in your date column.  In my case when Power BI encountered several blank fields in one of my date columns it entered some erroneous number (not date-friendly) and that's what cause the problem.

Thanks for your inputs Rose. however I am afraid , as there is no blanks or non date format entries in date column.

The issue still needs help!
