Can't upgrade Classical workspace to new workspace experience.

Hello,

 

When I try to "Upgrade now" option of Advanced setting of "Edit workspace" pane, I get this error (see below Error message). Could you please help me with it - UnknownError is very vague, should I try to change some Tanent setting?

Is this an issue with North Europe?   

 

I have also gotten reports from our end users community they are gett the same error was well.

We had opened a Premier support case with Microsoft on this.  The feedback was that the image on the workspace was corrupted.  Below are the steps we were given to resolve the issue.

 

  1. Click on “Members” in the workspace in power bi.
  2. Click on edit group and upload any image as a logo and then deleted the logo.
  3. Go back to Power Bi and try to upgrade the Workspace (Note: the default logo image should show up)

In my case, I had not added an image to my workspace.  I went ahead and added one, but the upgrade still failed.  I then went back and removed the image from the workspace.  After that, I was able to do the upgrade successfully.

 

Every workspace we tried to upgrade, whether it had an image uploaded to the workspace or not, failed to upgrade.  Still seems like a bug to me, we are are pushing back on Microsoft on this.
