Can't connect to Power BI semantic model after february 2026 Power BI Update

After updating Power BI to the february 2026 update i get this error when trying to open my clients report in Power BI Desktop.

The model is created using azure analysis services and published to the Power BI Service.

The issue seem sporadic - some in my team can and some can't open the reports. Reverting to the november 2025 update resolves the issue - unless a person with the february update have already made changes to the report, then this error appears

have you opened a case with Microsoft?

Hi @NedergaardLasse, I faced the same issue. In my case clearing permissions from the connection saved in Data source settings helped. However, today I am facing another problem, which causes my report not able to be opened again. I get message: "Token refresh timed out" - it could be something with my credentials stored in another place, I guess. Generally speaking, latest update is a crap...

Hi @menglaro78, Unchecking the option "Use updated sign-in experience for data sources" in "Options/Security" tab helped to get rid of the issue. Thank you.
