Bug: Tooltips of Line & Stacked Column Chart not Displaying in Power BI Service

Hi everyone,

Multiple people in my department noticed that the tooltip for Line & Stacked Column Charts are not displayed correctly.

Only the tooltip for the line hover works as intended.

When hovering the column, the last "working" tooltip gets displayed. Mostly just the tooltips from different charts on the same page.

When hovering it initially after page load, only an empty box is showing.

This issue only occurs in the web variants of Power BI Service. On Desktop it works fine, in the Microsoft Teams plugin it also works completely fine (Report as well as App). But when viewing Report or App in any browser or editting the Report in the browser, the issue occurs.

I would post screenshots to visualize the issue, but I'm afraid that I would need to censor most of the content due to confidentiality.

But let me know if it would help, then I will provide it!

Is this a known issue and is there already an update to when it will be fixed?

This is a rather important page for our organisation, that's why it's so urgent for us.

Any info on the topic is appreciated.

Does this problem only occur in Line & Stacked Column Chart? Are all other visuals working fine? Is your reported error consistent with the screenshot below?

The problem only occurs in Line & Stacked Column Chart.

We also use bar chart, "normal" stacked column chart, pie chart etc.

The issue only exists on Line & Stacked Column Chart (all of them, on all pages).

It also looks different compared to your screenshot.

There is always the "normal" tooltip opening. But instead of the correct value, it just displays the last tooltip that was working on a different chart.

So for example when I hover a bar chart, it shows a tooltip. But when I then hover the Line & Stacked Column Chart, it still displays that exact tooltip, even though it's a completely different chart.

When I then hover over another value of the bar chart or e.g. a pie chart, it again shows the correct tooltip.

After hovering on the L & SC Chart, the tooltip from e.g. the pie chart stays.

However when directly hovering over L & SC Chart after initial page load (so before hovering any working chart), it just shows a blank tooltip (see screenshot below).

Same problem happens with any custom tooltip, when you do a cross filter the tooltip will stay with the loading message forever.

Update:
It now also stopped displaying the tooltips correctly in the Microsoft Teams Plugin.

So the only space where it is still working as intended is in PBI Desktop.

Any news on that issue?
