Bookmark navigator - groups bug (v2.102 Feb 2022)

Whilst a patch for the bookmark navigator is now available in the Feb 2022 (v2.102) release of Power BI Desktop, the bookmark navigator feature still does not support effective usage of multiple bookmark groups.

The Feb 2022 patch now ensures that the bookmark navigator (for a particular group of bookmarks) is completely deselected when another bookmark (outside of that group of bookmarks) is selected. This (whilst an improvement compared to the Dec 2021 release) is still a issue that does not effectively support multiple bookmark groups.

An acceptable solution is to have the bookmark navigator persistently showing the last selected bookmark (from the bookmark group the navigator is referring to) until another bookmark within that bookmark group is selected. This should persist for any number of other bookmarks (outside of the bookmark group the navigator is referring to) that are selected. Please acknowledge this remaining bug.

Hi @drscott ,

As for your need for the bookmark navigator to work across multiple bookmark groups.

You may  vote the idea and comment here to improve this feature. It is a place for customers provide feedback about Power BI products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.

@drscott can you share the PBIX with me? I'm the engineer working finalizing the fix and I want to be sure it does what you intend.  Thanks!

Any update? Hope my understanding is right. My issue should be the same. If we have BookmarkNavigator Group 1 (BNG1) and Bookmark Navigator Group 2 (BNG2).

BNG1 has 3 bookmarks: BNG1_1,BNG1_2 and BNG1_3

BNG2 has 3 bookmarks: BNG2_1,BNG2_2 and BNG2_3

Step 1: Click BNG1

Step 2: Click BNG1_2

Step 3: Click BNG2

Step 4: Click BNG1

Technicially, it should landing BNG1_1 and the backgroud of BNG1_1 is highlighted in the bookmark selection.

Truth: it lands on BNG1_1 but BNG1_2 is highlighted. Because the latest selection for this group is BNG1_2

how to solve? Any alternative solution?
