Bookmark Navigator tabs only gets selected or highlighted if someone click on it, or if the bookmark is part of the group that this visual use. If another bookmark tried to update this visual, it will not capture which tab is selected and replicate that when this bookmark selected.
Example:
We have bookmark navigator with two Tabs (Tab1 and Tab2)
The same bookmark navigator use one group of bookmarks ("Test Bookmark Navigator")
and here is how this bookmark group looks like.
we added "Reset" bookmark, which either save the bookmark for all visual or selected visual (both doesn't work anyway) while the "Tab 1" is selected.
if you press "Tab 1" bookmark, the "Tab 1" will be selected/highlighted
if you press "Tab 2" bookmark, the "Tab 2" will be selected/highlighted
if you press "Reset" bookmark, the "Tab 1" and "Tab 2" selection/highlight will not be refreshed and will stay with what it was before pressing "Reset" button.
Conclusion: “Bookmark Navigator” Visual will not update the tab selection if the bookmark selected is not part of the group that is linked to. Meaning, the rest of the bookmarks (Like the “reset” in the above example) has no impact on what is selected or highlighted in the Bookmark navigator.
Solution: Power BI developers team need to ensure that anytime a person add or update a bookmark, it should include the status (selection) of the bookmark navigator tabs, which should be updated if we select “All Visual” or “Selected Visual” while we have selected the bookmark navigator.
