Background Settings Cleared in PowerBI Service

Does anyone know if there was an update or similar done in Power BI Service today? I just noticed that one of my report sets has had the background settings cleared on all my visuals, text boxes etc so my reports look terrible.

It's right in month end with all the report users using these when they come online in 3 hours.  Urgent advice appreciated!!!

I've now also noticed its cleared actions on buttons as well.

Hi @KCinMelbourne,

I;m not able to reproduce the issue on my side. Please test if our pbix file works on your side.

Thanks @v-qiuyu-msft, the test worked fine.

In honesty, I think it was a problem with the corruption of the file on Service. I wasn't re-publishing that file but I had been editing it.  I also noticed the titles of some of the visuals had changed.  For example I had hidden filters with the title "Finance Use Only...." but they were then replaced with a series of numbers or letters or simply reset to default.

Because I generally use and edit the report on Service, I didn't have a backup on desktop that I could re-publish and so had to rebuild the functionality and links back in.

I am merely thankful it was only a set of 4 or 5 reports, and not our larger model (although I would have had a desktop version of that.

Hi @KCinMelbourne,

Power BI desktop provide more data modeling feature to design reports than Power BI service.

For your issue, as all issued reports are creating on Power BI service, I would suggest you create a support ticket and let engineers look into your environment.

Hi @v-qiuyu-msft,

Thanks for your advice.  The report was created in desktop but has been in use for some time. Every now and then I tweak the report directly in Service if it's a quick fix.  Hence, I hadn't need to pull it into Desktop to edit it for some time.

Honestly, usually I would log a support call to get to the bottom of an issue.  But given that I have a technical issue with retrieving data at the moment and the support desk just stopped replying to me on the issue (literally, ignored my emails despite multiple follow ups), I am not convinced of their service.  I've invested my time instead to a real outcome and rebuilt what corrupted.

Thank you anyway

Kirsty
