A mail notification is not sent on refresh failure when refresh Dataflow or Dataset is done via Api

Hello,

We have created our own custom application to refresh Dataflows and Datasets via some custom scheduler.

Application references Microsoft.PowerBI.Api version 4.1.

As described in the documnetation we pass additional parameter:

{
"notifyOption": "MailOnFailure"
}

But email has not been sent both for failed Dataflow and Dataset refreshes.

However when we call Refresh Dataset with "notifyOption": "MailOnFailure" we receieve next Exception:

NotifyOption parameter value is not supported for application requests
Parameter value 'MailOnFailure' is invalid for application requests

We tried to call refresh requests via postman - the same result - mail has not been sent.

We also tried to manually refersh dataflow and dataset via UI - mail has not been sent.

The only case when we managed to receive failure notification via mail was when Dataflow/Dataset was refershed via schedule refersh.

Please advice how we can receieve failiure mail notification if we referesh via API

Thanks in advance!

In my opinion, if you want to get a solution for this kind of custom application problem as soon as possible based on your specific situation, I suggest you to open a support ticket to get direct help from the technical support team of Microsoft to have a remote session them to help you to make sure if this is an issue existing in the Power BI.
