Ive been using Power BI for atleast a year at my new job, desktop version, and ive had this happen here and there then it immediatley solves itself but now its been happening all day today, including after restarting/shutting down my laptop. 

"A connection cannot be made. Ensure that the server is running.". I mainly am connected to webfiles, sharepoint folders, and dataflows, no SQL server.

It sounds like you’re getting a connection error when you try to access your data sources. There are a few possible reasons for this error, and some steps you can take to troubleshoot it.

One reason could be that your network uses a proxy authentication server that is blocking the web requests issued by Power BI Desktop. If this is the case, you can ask your administrator to add the following domains to the allowlist on the proxy authentication server:

app.powerbi.com 
api.powerbi.com 
domains in the *.analysis.windows.net namespace
Another reason could be that one or more redirect pages or providers in the sign-in process are not using HTTPS URLs, which are required by Power BI Desktop. If this is the case, you can contact your administrator and request that secured URLs be used for their authentication sites.
