Integrating power bi reports to application using Second method Power BI RestAPI

Hi All,

Can anyone help on how to start integrating power bi Reports to Customer Application via second method of using POWER BI REST API.

I am a  ETL And Sql Server developer ,Please help on workflow from scratch to end how we proceed developement.

Note: Power BI Desktop is required for developement of reports using second method of embedding i.e POWER BI REST API .

Could I need to use power bi desktop for development of power bi reports or using power bi SDK .please clarify my doubt.

oh, my friend, Power BI SDK is for Power BI Embeded, you have to use Power BI Desktop for development report.

Same as you, I started to integrate PBI report to web app by power bi rest api (power bi embed javascript) since last month.

As my feeling, the easy topic that you could follow up is:

• Power BI Cli to generate some workspace/importing report by command (interactive with your azure account)
• Basic steps to integrate with js and demo site
• In case you want to extend expiration of embed token or something else, you could use Power BI API for .NET

Hi @pavan1,

Yes, you need use Power BI Desktop to design report and save to pbix file. Power BI Rest API just help you generate iframe element and pass it to you calling method in code to render in your application view. But PBI Desktop is free so there is no matter about it. ^_^
