Hi @prproddu
Thanks for using Fabric Community.
As I understand you have created a shortcut for a file/folder present in ADLS GEN2 in a Lakehouse. If you want to create a semantic model for this file, you can follow the below steps:

1) I have created a shortcut in the Lakehouse using ADLS GEN2.

2) Load the data present in the file shortcut to a table.

3) A table will be created in the lakehouse. Now you can create a semantic model using this table.

Hi @prproddu
Currently the complex column types are not supported for Direct Lake tables.

Hi @prproddu
Please review the data types in the tables to verify that there isn't anything that might not be supported.
Please refer to this link: Direct Lake in Power BI  (Known Issues and Limitations section)

Example : Direct Lake tables do not support complex delta table column types. Binary and Guid semantic types are also unsupported. You must convert these data types into strings or other supported data types.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

@AnonymousWe don't use any complex data types in our table shortcuts. We can create a semantic model when we use Account Key to create shortcuts from ADLS Gen2. But we have a problem creating a semantic model with shortcuts that use SPI.
