Hi,
I've been using Trial Capacity for testing, and I have 10 days more and then the capacity will expire. There's a warning message saying that 7 days after capacity is expired, all the content in the workspaces attached to the Trial capacity will be deleted.
I don't want to loose these features, but I'm not going to work with them in the short-term. Is it a good practise to get a F2 Capacity pay-as-you-go to change de attached capacity of the workspaces from Trial Capacity to this F2? I'd have the F2 Capacity turned off at least for the next 2 months, and then I'd turn it on when I need. Even if F2 capacity is turned off, my features in the workspace will still remain?

Hi again @amaaiia
Thanks for using Fabric Community.
Yes, it is a good practice to switch to a pay-as-you-go capacity like F2 from the Trial Capacity to ensure that your workspaces and their content are not deleted after the trial period ends.

The F2 Capacity pay-as-you-go pricing stands at $0.18 per CU per hour, which translates to a monthly price of $262.8 for an F2. This means you only pay for the compute resources when they are in use. When the F2 capacity is turned off, you will not be billed for compute resources, but your features in the workspace will still remain.

However, please note that while your data will remain intact when the capacity is turned off, you won’t be able to perform any operations that require compute resources. So, you can turn it on only when you need to use these resources.
The internal team also concluded as:
Yes that’s right. You will be billed for storage but it’s not a lot.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi @v-nikhilan-msft Thanks for the response.
Once I've upgraded to F2 pay-as-you-go capacity, upgrading from F2 to another SKU (higher or lower) if needed, it's easy? I guess I have to buy another Capacity in Azure and change it in the workspaces, and then remove from Azure de F2 pay-as-you-go-capacity first capacity.
And another question, when I change the capacity from one to another, the storage is the same? I mean, my data is moved inside OneLake or remains in the same path?
Hi @amaaiia
1) No you can just change the size in the Azure portal.

2) When you change the capacity in Microsoft Fabric, your data storage remains the same. The storage is independent of the compute resources, which are what you’re adjusting when you change the capacity.
So, your data should remain in the same path and is not moved to OneLake or any other location when you change the capacity. However, it’s always a good idea to back up your data before making any major changes to your configuration, just in case.
