Create Lakehouse shortcut: wizard spinning forever

I'm experiencing the same issue as this thread https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussion/Create-Lakehouse-shortcut-wizard-spinni...

The "Launching shortcut wizard" modal just sits indefinitely. Unforutnately this still does not work for me in Chrome or Firefox like the solution in the previous thread.

I'm becoming very discouraged with Fabric. It does not appear to be ready for GA. Our sync for Azure Synapse Link for Fabric is not working well - tables stopped syncing and cannot reinitiate a full sync. Trying alternate methods and cannot even launch shortcut options.

Seeing the exact same behavior the last couple days... Just spins and we can no longer create shortcuts. Tried the usual... clear cache, InPrivate (just in case), different browsers (Edge/Chrome/Brave/etc.)... none of this works.

@WomanToBlame  - Did you hear anything from Microsoft support? Wanted to check before opening a ticket on our side.

Hi @jeremycolson1

I never did get around to submitting the ticket. The solution to the problem I was trying to work around came through, so I abandoned the work around. I did just check and can see that it is working for me now (East US in case region has anything to do with it).

Hi @WomanToBlame

Thanks for using Microsoft Fabric Community.

There might be a chance of an intermittent issue could you please follow the below steps that might help you.

Temporary Glitch: Clearing cookies and caches can sometimes resolve temporary glitches within the application that might be causing the issue.

Corrupted Data: In rare cases, corrupted data stored in the browser's cache related to Microsoft Fabric might be causing the issue. Clearing the cache removes this potentially problematic data.

Hard Refresh: A hard refresh bypasses the cached version of the webpage and forces the browser to download the latest version from the server. Press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).

Try Microsoft Edge: If you are currently using Chrome or Firefox, try switching to Microsoft Edge to see if the issue persists. Edge is the native browser for Microsoft products and might have better compatibility with Microsoft Fabric.

I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.

Thank you.

Unfortunately none of these methods worked. I did have a lakehouse where the shortcut wizard modal wouldn't come up at all. After pressing ctrl+shift+R the modal launched, but with the same infinite spinning issue.

I primarily use Edge under the impression that a Microsoft product would work best with other Microsoft products, however, it seems that it's often the least compatible browser. This issue exists on Edge. I tried on Chrome because I've seen other things work there that did not work in Edge. I only installed and tried on Firefox because someone in the previous thread noted that it worked for othem.

Hi @WomanToBlame

Following up to see whether your issue got resolved or still facing the issue.

Hi @WomanToBlame

If the issue still persists. The best course of action is to open a support ticket and have our support team take a closer look at it.

Please reach out to our support team so they can do a more thorough investigation on why this it is happening: https://support.fabric.microsoft.com/support

After creating a Support ticket please provide the ticket number as it would help us to track for more information.

I hope this information helps.

Thank you.

Its ok now, thanks

Hi @WomanToBlame

We haven’t heard from you on the last response and was just checking back to see if you've had a chance to submit a support ticket. If you have, a reference to the ticket number would be greatly appreciated. This will allow us to track the progress of your request and ensure you receive the most efficient support possible.

Thanks.

Hello @v-cboorla-msft - unfortunately I have not had the chance to submit the MS ticket. It is on my to-do list!
