Workspace Activities 'Monitoring' not working properly

Hi, I'm using the Monitoring option in a workspace to track the actual activity in my Fabric workspace. I've enabled "Log workspace activity", and it correctly created the Eventstream and the KQL database.

However, it seems incomplete. When I open the KQL database, I want to see information such as pipeline activities, semantic model refreshes, and other details. But the only data being collected appears to be SemanticModelLogs.

According to Microsoft’s documentation, this monitoring setup should also create a table called ItemJobEventLogs:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-factory/monitor-pipeline-runs

But it seems that this table is not being created or the data is not being collected in my monitoring KQL. Do you have any idea why this might be happening? Is there an additional setup required?

PS: This image is from the Microsoft Documentation, in my Monitoring KQL it doesnt have this table.

Hi! It seems this issue is probably happening because the feature isn’t working yet. A Microsoft developer mentioned this on Reddit. So basically, we’ll just have to wait and see when it will show up and work properly.

Yes, i've got many matter of fact. And they've been executed since i enable the monitoring logs with KQL, so they should already appeared.

  • Hi malheirosJordan  ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

Please check out these points and check if they fix the issue you are experiencing:

    1. Not Premium or Fabric Capacity: Workspace Monitoring requires the workspace to be on a Premium or Fabric capacity.
    2. Tenant Settings Disabled: The Workspace Monitoring feature requires two tenant settings to be enabled:
      • FabricGAWorkloads: Must be enabled to allow creating Fabric workloads
      • PlatformMonitoringTenantSetting: Must be enabled to allow workspace monitoring functionality

I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.
    Thank you

Hi, I don’t have access to the tenant settings. We have a specific person responsible for that, but he couldn’t find the option you mentioned. Could you show a screenshot of this permission and where it’s located? I’m planning to schedule a meeting with him so we can locate these settings.

        Hi malheirosJordan ,

Please find the screenshot of the tenant setting

Additionally, these are the operation logs that are available after installing workspace monitoring

Please review the command logs, data operation logs, metrics etc  to see if the pipeline logs you need are available.

I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.
        Thank you

    Thank you.

  • Hi malheirosJordan , could you please share how this was resolved for you? We are facing the same issue—our pipelines have run multiple times after enabling workspace monitoring, but the ItemJobEventLogs table is still not created or populated. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
