Why can I renew my "free trial", and seemingly have endless free trials?

I have 3 questions, please answer both of them - highly appreciated!

Question 1: Why was I enable to "renew free trial" for my Fabric account just a few days before it expired? I got another 60 days free trial for some reason - so 120 total.

Question 2: I am very concerned about my workspace items in Fabric being deleted. I am aware that they are supposed to be deleted 7 days after my trial ends. However, what if a new Fabric account takes ownership of all Fabric items, which the previous creator made? If the previous creator's Fabric trial ends, but a new owner of these Fabric items has been assigned - do the Fabric items then get to "live" another 60 days? Because the new owner of the Fabric items has a full 60 day trial..?

Question 3: Where exactly can I see when my items will be deleted? This is not clear to me.

Hello @useruserhi91

1. There is no official document or guidelines for renewal of trial beyond 60 days , but almost everyone is able to do it. This flexibility is intentional for evaluation purposes but may change post-preview.

Fabric items are tied to the trial capacity, not individual ownership. To extend their lifespan:
1. Reassign workspaces to a new trial capacity:
• If a new user starts a trial, their trial capacity can host existing workspaces. Workspace admins/members can transfer items to the new capacity via Workspace Settings > Premium > Trial

Items are retained only if the workspace is assigned to an active trial or paid capacity. If the original trial expires, items in its capacity face deletion unless migrated ().
Key limitation: Without migrating workspaces to a new trial or paid capacity, ownership changes alone won’t prevent deletion.

Navigate to Account Manager > Trial Status for days remaining

Workspaces in expiring trials display banners 7–30 days pre-expiry

Items enter a 7-day soft-delete state post-trial. To view exact deletion dates:
• Use the Admin Portal > Trials tab (Fabric admins only)

thanks @nilendraFabric, but if I can simply create a new Microsoft user (or even just utilize any existing user in my organization) --> Enable a free fabric trial --> migrate my production workspace to this new users trial --> continue the process to have endless F64 trial compute for free: Then what is the point of paying for Fabric capacity? I can just utilize my free trials over and over again, if all I need is F64 or below.

Hello @useruserhi91

good thinking:)

but no guarantee that trial will be keep extended. Eventually you will have to buy the capacity and then transfer your ws to paid capacity. Having said that enjoy the free trial till the time it is there.

Makes sense 🙂 I was just thinking also: Can an entire workspace be deleted if I do not buy fabric? Or will the workspace I have created ALWAYS be "alive" as long as it has a valid trial capacity attached to it?

Non-Power BI Fabric items (e.g., warehouses, notebooks) in workspaces assigned to an expired trial capacity are soft-deleted after 7 days.
• Power BI items (reports, dashboards) remain accessible if users have valid Power BI licenses

Cool, so a workspace can NEVER be deleted if it has a VALID/non-expired trial OR F capacity assigned to it?
