Unable to ingest using on prem SQL server connection in pipeline

Hi everyone,

 I've been unable to ingest data in a Fabric pipeline since Yesterday.

First error received:

Please check your network connectivity to ensure your on-premises data gateway can access ne.frontend.clouddatahub.net and restart the service to retry the connection again once the connectivity issue has been resolved.

I updated the gateway and can connect but with a new error:

The Data Factory runtime is busy now. Please retry the operation later.

There are no other jobs running, and i've scaled the capacity up, same issue.

Anyone facing this issue, any ideas on a fix?

Hi @wardy912 

As per your 2nd error "The Data Factory runtime is busy now. Please retry the operation later." This might be becuase of Data Factory runtime might be overloaded. This is Global issue few users are facing when when run time is overloaded. I would recommend you please raise a support ticket here Create a Fabric and Power BI Support Ticket - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Update to this, My on-premises gateway hadn't been updated since January 2025, obviously missed a Fabric related update.
I originally couldn't update it, kept failing and rolling back.

I had to uninstall and reinstall, problem solved.

Don't be like me, update your gateways!
