Unable to Select Mirror Database as Source in Copy Activity

Hi Team,

I am using Azure SQL Database as the source to ingest data and process it through different layers (Medallion architecture) in Fabric. I have utilized the Mirror Database option to mirror the Azure SQL Database into Fabric and am considering the mirrored database as my Bronze layer.

However, I am unable to select the mirrored database as a source in the Copy Activity. Is this a known limitation?

Thanks,

Jaganath

    Hi Jaganath

I tried but didn't see the mirrored database as an option in the data source. In addition, Mirrored database isn't listed in the document: Data pipeline connectors in Microsoft Fabric. So I think it is not a supported data source for Copy data activity. You may raise an idea at Fabric Ideas Forum

Since Azure SQL Database is a supported data source for Copy activity, you can ingest data from Azure SQL database directly.

    Best Regards,
    Jing

same question, any resolution? Seems like a text book setup, Mirror an Azure SQL db into Bronze layer and then copy into Silver
