This has to be a joke - We cannot assign you a free Microsoft Fabric trial capacity due to an error.

Hello,

I've been trying to figure this out for close to a week now. I'm trying to create my free trial capacity but I get an error. I am not using my work email address. I'm following instructions online by creating a free Azure account with my personal email. From there, going to entra and create another account with Fabric admin role. All of that works until I click "Start Fabric Trial Capacity". I get the error like others have posted (We cannot assign you a free Microsoft Fabric trial capacity du to an error), but it appears that the Power BI trail has started.

I see some responses about my tenant has reached the max amount of free trail capacities, I'm not sure how that's possible as I never created any capacities before/on this account.

I see the responses about put in a support ticket.... How???

Does anybody have a legitimate solution or is this luck?

Agree with @Tebain, I create a suport ticket with Microsoft and looks like the tenant should be at least few months old before Fabric Trial can be enabled. Even if you've work account but a new tenant created, still you would not be able to enable trial capacity. I would not have wasted my few days only if Microsoft would have made it clear in blogs or in their list of known issues.

All new Azure accounts need to wait 90 days before a Fabric trial can be started.
So if you got a "new" Azure account, you will get this error message.

Updated information I have since creating this post. FYI, I'm still unable to create a Fabric trail in my newly created account.

I was able to open a ticket and scheduled a Teams meeting with a support engineer. I showed the issue, he took some screenshots and said he will follow up with me. Few days later he emailed me back and said "Due to some internal reasons, the creation of Fabric Trials for certain tenants is currently restricted by the Product team. Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for this fix. but we expect the Product team to resolve this issue as soon as possible". He said this is a result of an annual freeze period, which occurs around this time each year. No ETA on when this freeze period should end.

I also learned that you need to have your account open for atleast 60 days before you can start a free Fabric trial. I can't cofirm this as I haven't had the account open for that long yet.

Is there any kind of solutions for this Issue?

Thank you.

I ran into the same issue and cannot raise a support ticket due to lack of premier access id + contract id/password

Tried Azure subscription activation, but that did not help too

Has anyone heard back from MS on a solution for this?

Hi @colinep11 ,

Thanks for the reply from ameerkottaiok .

Given we have so little information at this time, I can't tell what's causing your problem. You can create a support ticket for free and a dedicated Microsoft engineer will come to solve the problem for you.

It would be great if you continue to share in this issue to help others with similar problems after you know the root cause or solution.

Could you please share the current status of this issue? Is there progress on resolving it, or any specific actions we should take in the meantime?
