Size limit per Semantic model

Hi,

since i've noticed the Size limit per Semantic model has updated.

when i am wondering if the new upper limit for Semantic model size(below link's Max Memory(GB) column) is the limit for each Semantic model or total amount of Semantic models published to workspace(F SKU).

What is Power BI Premium? - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Thanks

Hi @jwryu ,

The limitations on semantic model are briefly described below:

  • For Power BI Pro, the semantic models are capped at 1 GB.
  • For Power BI Premium P1, the limit is 10 GB per model.
  • For Power BI Premium F32, the limit is 10 GB per model.
  • For Power BI Premium F64, the limit is 25 GB per model.

The limit (for example, 10 GB for F32 and 25 GB for F64) is per semantic model, not the total number of all semantic models published to the workspace. Therefore, if you have F64 capacity, you can publish multiple models as long as each model does not exceed 25 GB.

The main constraint in semantic models is the overall size of the model. For the row limit, Power BI imposes a limit on the query results sent to the underlying data source only if you use the Direct Query mode. If a query sent to the data source returns more than one million rows, an error occurs and the query fails.

Just for the records, the table above is correct, but the bullet-points are not:

  • Power BI Premium P1 equivalent in Fabric: F64!
  • F32 is not a Premium SKU.

What about PPU? Do I get 100 GB, even if I only have Fabric F8?
