I created the connection from scratch
The storage account is Enabled from all networks
I have the same error without description
Hi @emilisalas,
Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Community Forum.
Here are some additional troubleshooting steps to resolve the error;
1.Even if the storage account allows all networks, Make sure that the Microsoft Fabric service principal has the necessary RBAC permissions (e.g., Storage Blob Data Reader or Contributor) on the storage container level.
2.Try creating the shortcut using a different browser or an incognito/private window to rule out any session-related issues
3.Attempt to create a shortcut to a different storage account to check if the issue is account-specific.

The fabric workspace is assigned as Storage Blob Data Contributor (as a service principal)
I have the same issue with another navigator
Hi @emilisalas,
Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Community Forum.
Since the Fabric workspace is assigned as a Storage Blob Data Contributor and the issue persists, please follow the below steps to solve the error;
1. Make sure the Fabric workspace’s service principal has Storage Blob Data Contributor access at both the Storage Account and Container levels in Azure IAM.
2.If the storage account has a firewall, verify that Microsoft Fabric’s Managed Identity is allowed and check if Secure Transfer Required is causing issues.
3.Check Microsoft Fabric logs and Azure Activity Logs for hidden error messages. Also, use Azure Storage Explorer with the same service principal to validate access.

The connection is created and it works, but when I want to create the shortcut using this connection I get the error
Hi @emilisalas,
Thank you for reaching out in Microsoft Community Forum.
Please follow below guidelines to acheive the error;
1.make sure that the connection to the storage account is correctly configured for shortcut creation. Double-check that the required permissions and authentication settings are properly set, as these might differ from the connection settings.
2.Try deleting the existing shortcut and create a new one from scratch. This can help resolve any configuration inconsistencies or errors that might have occurred when reusing the previous shortcut.
3.Since the error doesn’t provide details, review logs from Microsoft Fabric or Azure Activity Logs for more insights. Additionally, ensure that the necessary firewall rules and network configurations are in place to allow Microsoft Fabric to create the shortcut, including verifying that the correct virtual network or subnet has access to the firewall-protected storage account.
