I was going through the following article:
At first ,I have granted lakehouse access to another user via sharing option
The next thing i did was clicking "Manage OneLake security" inside lakehouse and doing the following settings:
Even after providing ReadWrite access, I can still see permission is set to Read in Data Preview section. Is there any step which i am missing or is this a known bug?

I replcated your scenario based on the link. It's work for me. Pls have look on below steps
1.I granted my lakehouse(rawdata_LS) acces to one of my user as per screenshot below
2. The graned ReadWrite access and clicked on BrowseLakhouse Pls follwo below screenshot
3. Now selected the specific folder(Boxofice Project) and clicked on Add data pls follow below scrrenshot
4. Now I selected user and clicked on create role , pls follwo below screenshot
5. Now am able to see the Read,ReadWrite for ReadWrite role , pls follow below screenshot

yes, respective user able to uplaod the files in the lakehouse, with the contributor role of the corresponidng workspace.

yes, respective user able to uplaod the files in the lakehouse, with the contributor role of the corresponidng workspace.
