Hi Team,
One of my teammates is facing an issue while opening a report. I am the owner of the semantic model used as the source for this report, but the teammate is not able to see any data.
The error shown is:
ServerError_AdalGrantHasExpiredDueToPasswordChangeErrorCode
Any guidance on how to troubleshoot and resolve this would be really helpful.
Thanks!
Hi @Shreya_Barhate ,
May I ask if you have resolved this issue? Please let us know if you have any further issues, we are happy to help.
Thank you.
Hi @Shreya_Barhate ,
Thank you @tayloramy for your inputs.

Hi @Shreya_Barhate,
Based on how that is greyed out, I think you are not the owner of the model. At the top of the settings page there is a "this model has been configured by....." message and a button for you to take it over.
Once you take it over and are the owner of it, then the data sources tab will be accessible for you and you can reset the connection

Hi @Shreya_Barhate,
Go into the semantic model settings and reset all credentials used, there is a connection that is tied to a user account somewhere, and that user changed their password.

Hi @Shreya_Barhate ,
The error ServerError_AdalGrantHasExpiredDueToPasswordChangeErrorCode typically indicates that the OAuth token used by the semantic model's data source credentials is no longer valid. This can happen if the account password was changed, expired, reset, or the token was revoked.
To help narrow down the issue:
Can other users view data in the report?
If not, the issue is likely with the semantic model credentials.
Does the semantic model refresh fail?
Check the Refresh History for similar authentication errors.
As the semantic model owner, please review the Data Source Credentials in the semantic model settings and re-authenticate if necessary. If a gateway is being used, verify and update the gateway data source credentials as well.
In most cases, report consumers do not need to take any action. Once the credentials are updated and the semantic model refresh succeeds, the report should be accessible again.
Hope this helps.
Hi @Shreya_Barhate,
Can you expand the gateway and cloud connections section and post a screenshot?
