I have a Power BI semantic model connected to my data source in Microsoft Fabric. Even after refreshing the dataset successfully, the model does not show the latest data in reports.
The data source is updated correctly, but the semantic model still shows outdated or inconsistent results. I’ve tried clearing the cache and republishing, but the issue persists.
Looking for advice on how to ensure the semantic model reflects the most recent data in Fabric.

Hi @EsraaKamal
I faced a similar issue with a Power BI semantic model in Microsoft Fabric where the latest data was not showing in reports even after a successful refresh.
Here’s what helped to resolve it:
If using Direct Lake, make sure to refresh the semantic model and then refresh the report visuals.
Clear the Power BI cache: File → Options → Clear cache.
Verify the storage mode (Import vs Direct Lake) and check if incremental refresh or table refresh policies are preventing updates.
Republish the report if any model changes were made.
After applying these steps, the semantic model started reflecting the latest data correctly.

Even though the semantic model refresh succeeds, it may still be reading cached results or an older metadata snapshot in Fabric. This commonly happens with Direct Lake or mixed Direct Lake/DirectQuery models, especially when views or query caching are involved.
Try disabling query caching and forcing a model refresh. Suggest you to check wether the Semantic Model is linked to the right warehouse also.
You’re right, Direct Lake caching was the cause.
Forcing a model refresh fixed it. Thanks

Hi @Rufyda,
Just wanted to confirm that I tried the steps you shared and they worked perfectly
After refreshing the semantic model (Direct Lake) and clearing the cache, the reports started showing the latest data correctly.
Thank you so much for the help, really appreciated
