Power BI Deployment Pipeline - Change Workspace issues after Deployment

We're using Option 3 for CI/CD CI/CD workflow options in Fabric - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn.
When I deploy and then attempt to change workspaces in app.powerbi, I get stuck to the workspace I deployed to, until I close out the pipeline. It's a minor issue, but it's replicatable.

Browser: Edge

Visual: I have to close the Deployment Pipeline object before I can change workspaces

Hi @Johnm_AK89

Thanks for sharing this — it appears to be a UI navigation quirk in the Power BI/Fabric service. When the Deployment Pipeline view is open, it locks the workspace context to the one you deployed to, so switching workspaces won’t work until the pipeline view is closed.

Workarounds

  • Close the Deployment Pipeline tab after deployment, then switch workspaces.

  • Open the other workspace in a new browser tab.

  • Go to Home first, then choose another workspace.

  • Try another browser or InPrivate mode to rule out session cache issues.

Hopefully, this resolves your issue.
If you find this helpful, please share Kudos and accept it as a solution so it can help others as well.

Thanks
