Open Mirroring tool tips constantly show up

In the Open Mirroring webpage, I constantly get the tooltip popout for how to use Open Mirroring. I've closed it, both with the "X" and with the "Got It" buttons, but it always comes back the next time I come to the page. I'm using Microsoft Edge. I have the built-in tracking blocker turned off. I have uBlock Origin turned off. Is there a way to get it to stay gone?

    Hi mikeburek,

Can you try below triblesooting steps and let me know if this helps resolve your issue :

    1. Allow Cookies and Site Data: Click the lock icon (๐Ÿ”’) in the address bar โ†’ Cookies and site permissions. Ensure "Block third-party cookies" is turned off in Edge Settings. Add app.fabric.microsoft.com to the allowed sites under Cookies and site data.
    1. Clear Cache and Reset Site Permissions: Go to Edge Settings โ†’ Privacy, search, and services โ†’ Clear browsing data. Clear Cookies and site data (for app.fabric.microsoft.com only, if possible). Restart Edge and check if the issue persists.
    1. Test in an InPrivate Window: Open an InPrivate window (Ctrl+Shift+N), log in, and dismiss the tooltip. If the tooltip stays gone, the issue is likely related to local cache or cookies in your normal browsing session.

    Thanks,

    Prashanth

So what I'm seeing is this is an interface function that misses some edge cases, and not a cookie issue.

Whenever a mirrored database page opens, it automatically shows the "Upload files to get started" tooltip. If there are already tables in the "Tables in OneLake" tree, then it will dismiss the tooltip, but apparently not prevent it alltogether. I've been reloading the website after clearing all the caches, and very rarely I will see this dialog display and then hide on the database that has tables. Most of the time someone with a mirrored database that already has tables will not see the tooltip.

When there are no tables in the "Tables in OneLake", then every refresh of the page will show the "Upload files to get started" tooltip. The refresh is not just when I first open a page or when I manually do a refresh. The manual refresh is me clicking the browser's webpage refresh button, or pressing F5, or pressing the embedded refresh icon inside of the page on the "Home" toolbar. The refresh icon to the right of the tree node "Tables in OneLake" does not trigger the tooltip showing up.

The refresh also happens whenever I use the app.powerbi.com left side tabs to switch between mirrored databases. It does not happen when I switch between another type of tab to the mirrored database. But when I have the tab for two mirrored databases and swtich between them, the mirrored database page refreshed and the tree nodes are rebuilt.

In fact, going from the tab with the mirrored database without tables to the tab with the mirrored database that has tables, sometimes causes the one with tables to collapse. So if I expand the tree nodes under "Tables in OneLake" for the one with tables, then go to the tab for the one without tables, then go back to the tab with tables, sometimes that "Tables in OneLake" node collapses. Sometimes it doesn't. The "Uploaded files" node seems to always stay expanded.
