On-premises data gateway issue

Hi,

I have a specific scenario and I'm not sure if it's possible to be solved:

I need to use an on-premises data gateway for both Power BI Service and Power Automate, but they require different regions:

  • Power BI Service: My tenant is in Israel.
  • Power Automate: There is no Israel region in the Enviroments, only Europe, which is my default, but if I choose Europe it shows the gateway (That is configured to Israel) as Offline (since there's no Israel region available for Power Automate, I have no other option). If I choose any other Region for my enviroment it doesn't even detect / show my on-premises data gateway.

As you can see, it shows "Ready" for both Power Automate and Fabric, but still in Power automate the date is "Offline".

If I re-configure my on-premises data gateway to Europe, my Power Automate gateway works but my Power BI Service doesn't work.
Can I create a single gateway cluster that includes gateways from two different regions (Israel and Europe)?
Or is there another solution to it other than remmaping my Power BI Service to West Europe?

Thanks!

Hi @aviha12

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.

@suparnababu8 Thanks for the inputs.

Information provided by Super user was helpful. As he said its not possible, Microsoft does not yet support using a single gateway across different service regions, I encourage you to submit a detail feedback via ideas forum Fabric Ideas - Microsoft Fabric Community.

Thanks.

Hi @aviha12

I don't think it's possible to create single gateway cluster that includes gateways from two different regions. why becuase, gateways are region bounded. so both PBI and Power automate requires gateway in same region and install separate gateways for each region. How to set your region, kindly go throuhg this Set the datacenter region for the on-premises data gateway | Microsoft Learn

Please let em know if it helps you.

Thank you!

Thanks but it doesn't work sadly.
I need someone who have had the same issue.
