I current using Microsoft Fabric with Capacity Metric App as my main monitoring, is there any affect if Microsoft update Capacity Metric Semantic Model and change the logic or calculation, will it cause my Capacity Metric Report becomes errors or data un-feed or un-refreshable?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi,
THe capacity metrics app is intended to be used as is, not integrated into other reporting. While it is possible to integrate it by moving it onto a fabric capacity and using the XMLA endpoint to extract some data, this is unsupported and when microsoft changes the model, you would need to update your code that is extracting data.
Have you looked at the capacity events in real time intelligence? That would be the recommended way to get capacity information if what you're looking for is available in there.

Thank you.
Hi @alexhungpham,

Please feel free to reach out Microsoft fabric community forum.
Thank you.
Hi @AsgerLB ,
I mean if they are updated or changed Semantic Model is there any side effect to My current Monitoring Report, since I am currently using that?
Br,
Alex - HP
Hi @alexhungpham,
Yes, Microsoft changes the capacity metrics app often to improve it, and they only support old ones for so long. I recommend updating it when Microsot releases new versions. Eventually the old app will stop working.

That is very likely as in any other case of changing a model behind a PBI report. In cases where this happens, you can always follow the troubleshooting guide from Microsoft:
""
After installing the app, if it's not showing data or can't refresh, follow these steps:
