Inactive user created and owned this lakehouse where we published curated data. I got the problem to refresh the data and got the error message when try to get the data from lakehouse in this workspace.
here is the error message:
Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'OLE DB or ODBC error: [DataSource.Error] Microsoft SQL: Encountered operating system error 5(Access is denied.) while attempting to read physical metadata.

Hi @NipawanV Went through the same issue. The only way to change the ownership of a lakehouse is to log a Support ticket with Microsoft. This was confirmed by the MS Support Team as well.
Just a quick update.
In the latest January 2025 updates, its now possible to change ownership of lakehouses.

Hi @NipawanV Went through the same issue. The only way to change the ownership of a lakehouse is to log a Support ticket with Microsoft. This was confirmed by the MS Support Team as well.
Probably you will have to open a support ticket with Microsoft.

Good suggestion, but I went down this path with a similar issue concerning multiple artefact-types, see my experience so far below.
Changing ownership through running this PowerShell-script (adjusted to artefact type) outcome:
For the above issue with a lakehouse we are to submit a ticket with Ms as well.
