Hi everyone, I’m new to Microsoft Fabric and want to learn how to use it effectively.
Can someone suggest the best resources, tutorials, or first steps to get started?
Any tips for beginners would be really helpful!
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your questions.
I would suggest below are few things which you can do
1. Start with Microsoft learn https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/paths/get-started-fabric/
2. there are few fabric credentials https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/browse/?products=fabric just finish those as well
3. There are tones of free learning stuff on youtube and udemy just start checking 1,2 video and if you like the style of explaining then start reading from there.
4. create a developer account and start hands on.
Although, I have also wrote few articles if you like you can visit Indiandotnet.wordpress.com as well.
Hi @Nadirlhr,
If you have access to fabric (either at work/school or with a developer account) then the best way to learn it is to start a project and jump in.
There's also some great content on the internet for learning. Aleksi has a great video course for DP-700: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTDSP7KBavI

Some of the advice will depend on what you want to focus on.
I highly recommend watching the Microsoft Fabric Launch Digital event videos if you need to improve your foundational knowledge. Since they provide a better understanding of the basics. Just bear in mind that some of the content has changed over time.
You can watch both the Day 1 and theDay 2 videos on for the Microsoft Fabric Launch Digital event on YouTube.
Plus, Microsoft provides some really good end-to-end tutorials in Microsoft Fabric to help you get up to speed with it. You can also find a learning path to help you get started with Microsoft Fabric in Microsoft Learn.
Hi @Nadirlhr for starters, how about a 60-day trial for you to test Fabric, in this article, I give you step-by-step instructions Brilliant! How to get started with Fabric with a Hotmail account ; once armed with it, you can do excersises, labs, tutorials, etc. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND DOING the prep. course for the
Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate - Certifications | Microsoft Learn , I would give priority to Get started with Microsoft Fabric - Training | Microsoft Learn the explanaition and labs in this module is very good, well structured, directly form MSFT and IT'S FREE!
Piece IF advise, BE A PRACTITIONER! Read the info BUT MOST IMPORTANTNTLY, DO THE LABS 💪 (again, get your trial account 👉 Brilliant! How to get started with Fabric with a Hotmail account!) and, as Fabric being a big platform, focus your learning on the specific topics related to your work, if data engineer, focs on notebooks, if powerbi analyst, well, focus on Power BI reports and once proficient, explore other experiences.
Start by understanding what Fabric is for: it’s an analytics platform, not an app backend. You use it to ingest data, transform it, model it, and report on it.
Best first steps
Learn the core concepts (don’t skip this):
OneLake (storage)
Lakehouse vs Warehouse
Semantic model (Power BI dataset)
Dataflow Gen2 vs Pipelines
Follow Microsoft Learn (official and free)
Search for “Microsoft Fabric Learning Path”. This is the most reliable starting point and stays up to date.
Do a small end-to-end project early
Example:
Load CSV/Excel → Lakehouse
Transform with Dataflow Gen2 or SQL
Build a semantic model
Create a Power BI report
Thanks
