How to documented Fabric project

hello experts,

I'm barelly new to Fabric, may I know when we have Fabric project, how to document all these ?

I'm used to ERP developers, and how we documented is usually by documented the ERP flow so it will somekind of diagram, then the tables, fields, and some imporant methods in the main process will be put into that document.

We used to named it like TDD or Technical Design Document. This will derived from FDD which is Functional Design Document which is more on the Business Process.

May I get a guidance.

Thanks

Hi @Tonizh ,

Thanks for the reply from lbendlin .

I have the following suggestions for how to document a Fabric project:

1. First create an overview of the project

  • Project name: the name of the project
  • Data Sources: All the data sources used
  • Goal: The purpose for creating the project
  • Scope: What the project contains

2. Lineage Chart

3. Data Model

  • Lists all tables and fields used
  • Describes the relationships between different tables

4. Data processing steps

Each step from data extraction to loading.

5. User Interface and Reports

Screenshots and description of created dashboards and reports.
