Horizontal Tabs Now Cache Items
Hoirzontal tabs now cache histroy in when opeoning new browser tabs. FOr example, if I have five horizontal tabs open in one browser tab, if I open Fabric in a new broswer tab, all five horizontal tabs open in the new broswer tab automatically.
This is a recent change but its a horrible change. It makes me think its a bug. It basically forces you to work in one browser tab instead of spreading out differnet workflows across browser tabs. Please remove this feature or make it an optional setting in the horizontal browser tab settings.

Hi cfrancis4910 ,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.Below are the few debug points which can resolve your issue.
- There is currently no available setting to disable horizontal tab synchronization across browser tabs.
- Verify whether the issue is browser-specific by testing in another supported browser and an InPrivate/Incognito window.
- Clear the browser cache and cookies for Microsoft Fabric and test again.
- Disable any tab/session management browser extensions that could affect browser sessions.
- Check whether the behavior is consistent across all workspaces and for other users in the same tenant.
Thanks,
Chaithanya.

Hello Chaithanya,
A setting to disable this new feature is absolutely needed. This occurs across all browsers for all Fabric users on my team and everyone has expressed a lot of annoyance with this issue.
Clearing the browser cache doesnt make the issue go away. We dont have any extensions that impact cache.
Please prioritize this with the UI team

I have the same request as the original poster. I frequently open multiple browser tabs. The new behavior makes working in side-by-side tabs very confusing. Plus, it allows for the possiblility that I forget which tab I was originally editing an item in, causing me to work on two different branches and overwrite things I don't intend to overwrite.

Hi cfrancis4910 ,
Thank you for your feedback. We understand this behavior is impacting your work.
As Microsoft CST member, we don't have a way to directly contact or prioritize requests with the Product/UI team. We kindly recommend you to raise a Microsoft Fabric support ticket so your feedback and feature request can be reviewed by the appropriate engineering team.

Hi User,
Thanks for sharing your feedback. I can understand how this behavior could disrupt workflows, especially if you rely on separate browser tabs to work on different Fabric tasks simultaneously.
From your description, it sounds like the horizontal tabs state is now being synchronized across browser tabs, causing newly opened Fabric sessions to restore the same set of tabs instead of starting with a fresh workspace. If this is a recent change, it may be an intentional UX update or an unintended regression.
A few things you could try to help isolate the behavior:
Test in an InPrivate/Incognito browser window to see if the behavior persists.
Check whether the same issue occurs across different browsers (e.g., Edge and Chrome).
Clear your browser cache/site data for Fabric and test again.
If the behavior is reproducible, consider submitting it through the Fabric Ideas portal or opening a Microsoft Support ticket, as product feedback like this helps the team evaluate whether the behavior should be configurable.

Could you also clarify:
Which browser are you using (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, etc.)?
Does this happen every time you open a new browser tab, or only after restoring a previous session?
Have you noticed this behavior only recently, or did it start after a specific Fabric or browser update?
These details will help determine whether this is an intended feature, a browser-related behavior, or a product regression.

Incognito does not solve the issue. It occurs across all browsers. Cleairng cache doesnt help. We tested using Chrome and Firefox. Happens every time a new fabric browser is opened. Only started happenign in the past 2-3 weeks.
