Hello Team,
I want to share an important challenge I’m facing as an individual user exploring Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
Unlike Tableau Public, there is currently no platform where I can freely publish my work and showcase my dashboards to others. For independent learners, creators, and developers like me, this is a major limitation. Tableau Public makes it easy to build a portfolio, share work publicly, and grow professionally — all without a subscription barrier.
When I try to sign in using my personal Gmail account, Power BI doesn’t allow login or access to essential features. This blocks me from publishing and sharing my work, even though I’m actively building projects and learning the ecosystem.
As an individual, paying $20/month for PPU plus additional paid services for storage and databases becomes very difficult. For many self-learners, these multiple subscriptions create a big barrier to entry.
A public platform — even a limited version — would be a huge boost for creators, learners, and the broader community. It would also help Microsoft reach thousands of independent users who want to showcase their work without enterprise-level requirements.
I hope Microsoft considers enabling:
A public publishing workspace for individual users
The ability to sign in with personal email accounts
A free or community tier focused on learning and portfolio building
This would create massive value for both users and the ecosystem.
Thank you for considering this feedback.
Best regards,
Ankur

Hi @Ankurnapa , thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns about the current limitations for independent users in Microsoft Fabric, we definetly mora practitioner and showing the type of amazing things you can build to support convinicing more and more companies to adop Fabric as their Data Platform
I would like to suggest you to take this and submit to (1) Fabric Ideas - Microsoft Fabric Community with this action, you will allow other users to rally and vote for MSFT to take actions.
There's one point I can directly help you with: signing in with a personal email account. I recently wrote an article explaining how you can get started with Fabric using a Hotmail account, which is a practical workaround for now:👉 https://www.techtacofriday.com/brilliant-how-to-get-started-with-fabric-with-a-hotmail-account/
This approach allows you to explore Fabric and Power BI without requiring an company-provided account but using a regular hotmail, provision a free capacity! In addition to this and understandin you want to do Power BI development specifically, you need to request a Power BI Pro Free license to 😁
Hope you find this info. useful, if so, I would appreciate a kudos, feel free to mark also as solution if appropiate.
