Fabric Maps
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to use the new Map item (preview) from Real-Time Intelligence in Microsoft Fabric, but it doesn't appear in my workspace when I click + New item.
I already checked the Admin Portal > Tenant Settings and I can see the following Maps settings enabled for the entire organization:
• Use ArcGIS Maps for Power BI
• Users can use the Azure Maps visual
• Data sent to Azure Maps can be processed outside your tenant's geographic region
• Map and filled map visuals
However, the specific Fabric Map item setting does not appear in my Tenant Settings, and the Map (preview) option is also missing from the + New item menu in my workspace.
Is there an additional tenant setting or workload that needs to be enabled specifically for the Fabric Map item in Real-Time Intelligence? Or is it possible that this feature is not yet available in certain regions?
Thank you in advance for any guidance.
Hi jhrjdata from the list provided, I think you missed one important ... Users can create Maps (preview)
I'm sharing the tenant setting I used in the image below
And with this setting, I was able to see the map item as shown below.
In the documentation only states that "If your Fabric capacity is located outside the EU or US regions, you must enable the Azure Maps services tenant settings. Begin by searching for Azure Maps services in the tenant settings, then toggle the option Data sent to Azure Maps can be processed outside your capacity's geography region, compliance boundary, or national cloud instance to Enabled." Ref. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/real-time-intelligence/map/create-map#enable-maps-in-tenant-settings
But this is only for data processing, it does not state the the Map item is restricted only to certain area, my tenant is in Norway and sure enough, the Map item was avaialble after the settings I shared with you 😉 .
Hope you find this information useful and start using what it seems a very cool new feature for real-time intellignce, I'll try this new item shortly ... hope you to! Mark this as solution if appropiate and give us a thumbs up, ok? Best of luck
