Fabric Capacity Metrics App -> all user interactions go back to the "Power Bi Service" user

Hello everyone,

I have been experiencing something strange for several days (it was still working on 4 January as I have a screenshot), all user interactions with the PowerBI dashboards are associated with the ‘Power BI Service’ user and not with the user who initiated the requests.

The impact is also that the number of users using the capacity also appears to be wrong, for example the dashboard shows me 3 users for Wednesday 8 January 2025.

If I go to the Feature and Usage dashboard (Admin Monitoring workspace), I see that there were 180 active users on Wednesday 8 January 2025.

Do you also have this problem? Is there a bug with the application?

Thank in advance for your return,

Have a nice day,

Vivien

Hello @vivien57

The issue you're experiencing with the Fabric Capacity Metrics app not showing individual user information is a known limitation.

Instead of showing individual users, the app aggregates usage data and displays it under the generic "Power BI Service" user

There is a specific setting in the Admin portal called "Show user data in the Fabric Capacity Metrics app and reports" that controls the visibility of user data. If this setting is disabled, user emails will be hidden in the app.

Please accept this solution if this is helpful.

Thanks
Nilendra
