Capacity Question: we can't get enough capacity for optimal performance in time. Why?

Hi,

Since 2 days ago a pipeline that orchestrates the refresh of a semantic model is failing. When checking the error log corresponding to the failed refresh following message does appear

lsghu2ekgslepk3vgjdnxbe6rm-h4tk3iejyyfurpgszqnfzsiwt4.datawarehouse.fabric.microsoft.com;Star. Message = [This query cannot be executed because we can't get enough capacity for optimal performance in time. This can be an intermittent issue. Please retry later.]\r\nStatement

The semantic model is based on an import model querying data from a Fabric Warehouse

The error message seems to clearly indicate some problems with the capacity resources available when running the queries to import the data.

My doubt is: This message means that we have exceed capacity limits? The model workspace has assigned a F64 SKU and checking on Fabric capacity report we see that we are far from excedeeing its total usage (around 25%)

I understand that if at the same time multiple process are consuming more than 64 CUs they are smoothed across the day. Why this does not happen when I am refreshing the models? why are these queries rejected?

Thanks

I'm having the same issue today.  There is a note on the support page:

Fabric Customers in West Europe region may experience intermittent performance issues when running SQL queries for their Datawarehouse and Lakewarehouse artifacts, leading to long query executions. Engineers are investigating the issue and an update will be provided soon.

Microsoft Fabric service status

I hope they will get this fixed soon.

I'm having the same issue, but with a simple
Select top 100 * from dbo.sometable in a lakehouse.

Never had the error message before, luckily all the normal processes are currently still working.
Would love to know what causes this, since it does not seem to be anything related to data size.
